Why oh Why.....................Is It , When you Think everything is Going Great, Something Mind Shocking Occurs............

The New Year is in full swing........you think "I will think positive, say nice things, keep my family in check, etc................................And then BAm! Hit with bad news all around..............My sweetest Mom endured one of her best friends passing a couple of days ago, I haven't heard such sadness in her voice in such a long time........it hurts...................
We received news of Mark's dear cousin Greg's passing late this afternoon............why oh why......he says............I just want to talk to him and see him once more......he was so young.............
Lesson to me............don't hesitate to call or reach out with a touch to someone who is on your mind..........
We are confused if we will get to even attend the funeral........and that makes it even harder to digest the sadness..............after all what is life in the end?????????? It's not $$$$$, things, trips, blings and blobs.............it's the family who loves and is loved..................It's the right thing.........
So as sad as it is everyday for someone..................today is our day..........................

I just had to go ahead and post a few of my favorite pics of our Christmas 2010......it was wonderful.............fast.....................relaxing........................exciting.......................playful..............surprising......................yummy food...............more yummy food....................delicious Christmas blend holiday coffee......pot after pot.............what a fun memory...........we always look forward to the "magic" of the season.............

UNTIL the flu of 2010 hit our household.............and did it ever.......it traveled to Grandma and Papa's house..........it traveled to Ma Mee and Gran's house and struck Aunt Cathey and Madi.....

It hit Mark and I like a brick wall................so instead of enjoying playing and playing and playing.......we were sick for four days........which took a little of the spirit out of us.............

All in all, everyone was thankful and cherished our memories with one another..........until next year.........when I panic...................again......................................

Isn't so great when you do it two nights in a row.........hey that's what it took this year to get my home decorated for Christmas! Feels good now........but I thought I was going to die!

Our family loves this time of the year, the sights, the smells, the sounds of the holidays..........

It's so warm and cozy to come home to "ole jolly St. Nick's eyes upon you".............

And the sweet smell of the gingerbread candle burning in the kitchen..........

Not to mention the 5th round of Xmas cupcakes we have baked this year...............Griffin loves sprinkles!

And just being with each other..............it's super nice and I am willing to slow down to enjoy the "reason for the season", my hubby and boys, and just all of the sweet and wonderful friends that touch our lives everyday........................

Second Tree Glory...................

Always a story with me............why is that????

A few weeks ago, Mom and I went to Abilene to shop and stopped at Sam's....wow!!!! There was this beautiful 12 foot (keep this in mine) beautiful and affordable Christmas tree!

She said, let's get that for part of your Christmas so you can enjoy it!

Wow!!!!!!!!!!! Exciting!!!!!!!!!! Until the guy loads it into the car and bam....goes one of the boxes! This tree came in two boxes mind you, 12 feet remember...............

Get it home, start to put it up the next weekend..............and my dear hubby says, "honey this ceiling is NOT 12 feet............just keep going I say..........it will fit.........after all it didn't look that tall in SAM'S.....................HA, HA,...............

Needless to say our ceiling is 10 feet, the guy dropping the box caused many broken bulbs, and it is 6:00 Saturday night.....................and Sam's closes at 8:00!

Throw the tree back into the box, drop Griffin at Grandma and Papa's, drive frantically to Sam's, no receipt, return tree for ANOTHER 12 foot tree...........and have a nice date/dinner with my hubby at the pub/grill downtown.........................................

Guess what! WE left a section out of the tree and it's beautiful! 10 foot.......but beautiful!
