I Miss My Friends.............................................at this time of the year!

So usually after spring break, we in the teacher world, say it's "all down hill" from here...........kids lose interest.....teachers lose interest........about to embark on the summer routine of coffee, Today show and swimwear on a daily basis.........
After these unusually warm afternoons, I have the bug to miss my dear friends....they are like sisters to me! Maureen, Vickie, Jennifer, Marilyn, Angie, Cindy and Lori! Love you guys and thanks for being my "forever " go-to friends!

Snow Mobile 2010...........101

Luckily one person didn't show up and Bryce got his own snow mobile...........what a break! The guys had a ball for the first year to do this outdoor extravaganza! No broken bones and no broken machines! Way to go us!

Spring Break 2010 Vail, Colorado

Here are a few shots of our wonderful spring break experience! More ski pics to come, Mark took some with his phone on "the top"! And I will post those soon!

Vail Village here we come! The guys can't wait to hit the slopes and I can't wait to hit my favorite shops!


Beautiful area! We love coming here year after year....

Do I look confused? It's not easy being a Mom and wife of guys on the mountain...I am usually not a "worry wart"...but it's a little unnerving.....plus keeping a two year old busy and happy in the village...I better get creative! Thomas puzzle in hand...m&m's stuffed in bag....a couple of prizes here and there...and I've got it made, right??

Wow! Bryce is almost as tall as Preston now! As a matter of fact he's 5' 11" and Pres is 6' 1".........will he pass him??? I think so...

I gave the yearly speech! Please be careful...don't take any chances....rest when you need to....do you have a snack in your pocket.....stay together.....be safe...be safe...be safe....especially because I had just picked up the local paper to see a 13 year old girl died from a head trauma ski accident there yesterday..........gulp!

Eating ice cream to keep busy! It wasn't easy entertaining a two year old all day without his "stuff"! We explored Vail Village to the "nth" degree.....

Feeding ice cream to the dog behind us........there are all kinds of dogs walking around with owners in Vail Village...it is really a laid back cool place to be...

After a nearly 4 hour car ride , in the rain, I guess Griffin gave up that we were ever going to get to Thomas the Train........we had been telling him to take a rest, we are going to ride on Thomas.........take a rest, take a rest, take a rest...

Well he did, in fact, fell asleep the very stop light before Thomas Train at the railway!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, in Grapevine, at the red light before the Depot....I look back and he's out! Out like a light! And it's 3:00!

Awaken! Dressed and diaper change! Thomas raincoat on! And here we go!~~~~ 3:40 departure! And we made it just in time...........Mom's shoes are a soaking and jeans wet up to the knees,,,,,,,but so what......we are here and this is going to be awesome!

We got a great window seat for the train ride....Griffin was thrilled to get his ticket stamped!

One of the activities was "getting some ink".......Griffin chose James, the red one! A shock to me.........but what the hey..................


Then we made out way over to the train exhibits.........wow what a treat!

He was a little shy at first........but then dove right in...........he is in his element!~


We made our way to the Thomas play tables......there were many train stations, etc. set up for kids to play with..............after thought.......it was a blessing that the rain fell, I think Griffin got his way with "trains" without a big crowd....

Look at those sweet little hands......this is serious business........who would have known that it was pouring rain outside, we were so happy "inside" the Thomas tent!

A dream come true! Gathering around the "Thomas" table just a playing trains.....what else could make a little boy's heart happy??? He was so kind and sharing and gentle until another little train lover challenged him and he guarded his post!!!!

With my new "ooh and ahh" Christmas camera, I decided to try my hand at "closeups!" Yes, what better subject than TRAINS! It seems to dominate my every move these days......which if fine by me!

But here's the kicker!!!!!!!!!!!! This weekend.............we are going to Grapevine Depot to ride on the real Thomas the Train!!!!!!!!!! Yes, you read that right!!! WE ARE RIDING ON THOMAS AND MAKING A DAY OF IT! A Day Out with Thomas! What else could make a two year old as happy as can be??? Then on Tuesday, we get to take Preston to see John Mayer.....Christmas tickets and it's finally showtime! Love his music!!!!!!!!

So I am excited to get going on this little road trip adventure! Thomas Train and John Mayer, what else could a girl ask for??????????? What a combo!!!!
